As a Zack Snyder movie, I was thrilled to see this one too after his previous movies like 300 and Watchmen which were totally awsome. So did i like the movie? The movie follows Babydoll, as she bands with four other girls in a plan to escape the mental asylum her evil step father sent her to. The girls have five days to see through their plan before Babydoll is lobotomized(its a medical term, learnt it from the movie itself…lol).

Okay, this movie is no Inception but I can see why some may think of it when watching Sucker Punch. To escape her unfortunate reality Babydoll escapes into a dream world set up like a high class brothel which she uses dance to escape into other levels of reality where the girls fight fantasy creatures in search of the five items they need to escape. Well this is a Zack Snyder movie, so if you will complain about anything in this movie it shouldn’t be the graphics. Cgi is in top form in Sucker Punch and is breathtakingly beautiful and full of detail. Other than the amazing cgi, and the great action sequences , it wouldn’t be a Zack Snyder movie without the epic slow-mo.

Although it looks like a somewhat mindless kick ass, eye candy flick, don’t be fooled: there is a pretty good story here, and its deeper than your first impression of it will be. After you watch it, you will need to process what actually happened.

Music is mindblowing. It totally sinks with the movie. I’m definitely getting the soundtrack of the movie.

Among the lead actresses, Abbie Cornish is my favourite. She is great as always.. Jena Malone and Jamie Chung is good… Emily Browning is pretty but needs to work on her acting skill, I guess… And  well I never was a fan of Vanessa Hudgens, but without being biased I still see her as the young teen highschool girl she was in the High School Musical movies. So it was pretty difficult for me to accept her as the ass kicking super girl. Oscar Isaac is exceptional as the evil guy.  Carla Gugino is fine too. All the other supporting actors are fairly well in whatever screen time they have.

All in all, the acting was good enough (though it didn’t blow my mind), the visuals are fantastic (did blow my mind) and the soundtrack is amazing (where is my mind?). Its worth a watch…
