Thank You

Raj, Yogi and Vikram – best friends, business partners, serial womanizers and happily married! Happy, because their lovely wives have no clue that their husbands cheat on them with every pretty young thing they can lay their eyes on. This picture perfect world is rocked when Raj’s wife, Sanjana begins to suspect her husband and hires the suave private detective, Kishan, to tail him. Kishan’s built his reputation as a man who saves marriages by getting erring husbands to mend their ways. In this particular case, however, his overwhelming attraction towards Sanjana means he may not be acting in her best interest! What follows is a crazy cat and mouse game, with Kishan trying to catch the husbands with their pants down literally and them attempting to just stay outside his grasp. –imdb

Although I like Akshay Kumar’s comic timing and his style of comedy, I wasn’t much excited about this one(after watching some of his previous movies). His part is always funny and hilarious but the movie as a whole is always ridiculous(which has been since quite some time). And this one is no exception.

The best part about the movie is Irrfan Khan. He has again proved his versatality with great comic timing on this one. Akshay Kumar is funny but its been quite repetative. Nothing new here as well. Sunil Shetty gives a lot of funny chuckling moments, Bobby Deol is fine. Among the actresses, Rimi Sen is great. She did her best which shows in the movie, Sonam Kapoor seems out of place specially in some emotional scenes. Celina Jaitley doesn’t have much to do.

Still of Bobby Deol, Sonam Kapoor and Akshay Kumar in Thank You

The movie is full of cliches, with some gigling chuckling moments but no any laugh-out-loud moments. The ending goes overboard and tries to make a pigheaded soulless movie into a serious inquisition into relationships and fails miserably. The lowest point of movie comes at the end.

Watch it if you don’t have anything to do and it would be better if you just watch it on dvd at your home and save all the trouble of going to the theatre and spending lot of money. The movie is not worth that. Watch it for the actors’ comic timing. That may bring some nice smile on your face. I rate it 2.5 out of 5.
